About the Program

The Mental Health & Behavorial Science Service at VAMC West Palm Beach provides consultation, evaluation, and treatment for a variety of issues that can impact emotional well-being. The VA Medical Center houses Veteran Service Officers on campus to assist veterans with their disability claims.

Services Offered

Mental health services provided at VAMC West Palm Beach include treatments for —

• depression, sadness, grief
• suicidal thoughts and plans 
• anxiety, worry, nervousness
• addictive behaviors/substance abuse 
• relationship problems
• stress from medical problems and/or pain
• post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)  
• emotional problems, such as managing anger
• vocational issues
  • Message from the VA Secretary regarding veterans' employment 
  • Resources for employment* (user guide)
• troublesome thoughts or ideas
• confused thinking
• aggressive or self-harming behaviors
• memory problems
• homelessness 
• inpatient psychiatric hospitalization
• outpatient mental health needs

Confidentiality

Mental Health services are confidential. We will not talk to anyone about information you share unless you give written consent. Under federal law, a few exceptions to this rule exist. If you have questions, please ask your mental health provider.
