Volunteer Assignments

Please contact Voluntary Service to discuss current available volunteer positions. If you have special skills to offer, please let us know so we can plan the best use of your talents to help our Veterans. Individuals and groups are welcomed to join us in serving our Nation's Heroes. Please note, volunteer assignments consist of non-clinical duties.
 
Here are a few samples of ongoing volunteer assignments: 

Customer Service Ambassador

This volunteer program covers a wide-range of customer service needs throughout the medical center from greeting visitors to patient satisfaction.

Volunteer DAV Tri-Rail Van Drivers

Drivers needed to transport Veteran patients from Tri-Rail to the medical center and back to Tri-Rail. Applicant must have current valid driver's license and auto insurance.
Hours:  6:45am – 11:00am – 11:00am – 5:00pm.

Information Desk Volunteer

Provide customer service to patients and visitors regarding information such as clinic locations and other general information.

Volunteer Office Assistant

Assist medical or administrative offices by providing light clerical duties, filing, answering phones and photo copying.

Recreation Activities Volunteer

Assist Recreation Therapist in daily activities with Veterans (i.e. games, refreshments, conversation, escort patients to dining room).

Please note:  Volunteer applicants will be required to complete a fingerprint background check and two tuberculosis screenings. These requirements are coordinated and scheduled by Voluntary Service staff.
