COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic for Veterans receiving care at VA

The West Palm Beach VA Medical Center has partnered with Indian River State College to host a COVID-19 Vaccination clinic for eligible Veterans. The clinic will offer first doses of the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine by appointment and on a walk-in basis.

Who is eligible?
  • Eligible Veterans aged 65 and older, employed as essential frontline workers, younger than 65 with underlying medical conditions as determined by the CDC and other high risk groups may receive the COVID-19 Vaccine. 
  • Veterans must currently receive care at the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center and/or its outlying clinics to receive the COVID-19 Vaccine.
Important notes:
  • Veterans must be able to return to the same site for their second dose in four weeks.
  • If a Veteran has received any vaccine, such as the Flu or Shingles vaccines, they will need to wait 14 days from the date of that vaccination before receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

TeleMOVE Orientation - Virtual
 
Time: 10:00 AM- 11:00 AM (EST)
Location: Veteran Video Connect (VVC)
 
Who: TeleMOVE is a weight management program for Veterans who are self-motivated and need to lose weight.
What: A 90-day Home Telehealth program with the support of a Registered Dietitian in the comfort of your own home.  This program provides you with educational tools for self-monitoring and weight loss.
How: A one-time orientation group on Wednesdays and Fridays via Veteran Video Connect (VVC).  Individual appointments are available as well for your convenience.

Virtual Mind Body Skills Group - 10 Week Commitment
 
Time: 10:00 AM- 12:00 PM (EST)
Location: Virtual
 
This group is designed to introduce Veterans to a series of skills to help them with overall self-care. All participants must be willing to commit to attending the series and follow the group guidelines that will be discussed with all participants. Please contact group facilitators for details. Space is limited so enroll now.

Free Veterans Tax Clinic
 
Time: 10:00 AM- 2:00 PM (EST)
Location: Palm Beach Gardens Library, 11303 Campus Drive, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410
 
AARP Tax volunteers (sponsored by VA Voluntary Service) will provide FREE tax return services for low and middle income VETERANS every Monday and Wednesday through April 14.
 
Veterans will be asked to drop off their paperwork and will be called for pickup the following week. 
 
Veterans MUST bring the following information:
  • Social Security cards for yourself and all dependents
  • Copy of last year’s income tax returns
  • W-2 forms from each employer
  • Unemployment compensation statements
  • Voided check for direct deposit bank information
  • SSA-1099 form if you were paid Social Security benefits
  • All 1099 forms (1099-INT, 1099-DIV, 1099-MISC) showing interest and/or dividends, as well as documentation showing original purchase price of your sold assets
  • 1099 forms if you received a pension or annuity
  • All forms indicating federal income tax paid
  • Mortgage interest statements and property tax receipts 
  • Childcare provider information (name, employer ID, Social Security number)
  • Receipts or canceled checks if itemizing deductions
 
Virtual Whole Health Group
 
Time: 10:30 AM- 11:30 AM (EST)
Location: Virtual Event via Veteran Video Connect (VVC)
 
Who: A program for Veterans who want to learn how they can use food and drink to help improve their mood, gut health and reduce inflammation.
What: Curriculum includes virtual interactive sessions focusing on Whole Health Nutrition.

MOVE! Virtual Weight Management Program - Afternoon Session
 
Time: 1:00 PM- 2:00 PM (EST)
Location: Veteran Video Connect (VVC)
 
Who: MOVE! Is a multidisciplinary program for Veterans who need assistance in managing their weight.  
What: Curriculum includes multiple sessions that discuss medication management, safety tips for physical activity, behavior modification and lifestyle changes.
