West Palm Beach VA to Open New MRI Suite

March 16, 2017

West Palm Beach, FL – The West Palm Beach VA Medical Center will host a ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the opening of its new Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) suite on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 1:00 pm. The new 6,168 sq. foot suite will feature a modern design, patient centered layout and state-of-the-art equipment to include two new MRI machines – a 1.5T Siemens and 3T Siemens.

The new MRI units will replace the existing 1.5 T unit inside the facility on the second floor and a mobile unit located just outside the facility near the basement. The equipment will bring welcome advances in the quality of the images captured by the medical center and will enhance the quality of care being offered to local Veterans. Additionally, the 1.5T and 3T MRIs have a larger opening which will help diminish claustrophobia in patients and both machines will have higher table weight limits.

Members of the media who wish to cover this event may contact Ms. Kenita D. Gordon, West Palm Beach VA Medical Center public affairs officer at (561) 422-8607.
